Tomas Olsson
System Developer – DevelopmentCoincidence brought Tomas to MTEK - now he is one of the veterans: "Then it's worth all of the hard work"
“This is exactly what I want to do. At MTEK, I get to work with the latest technology and the most exciting projects".
That's what computer engineer Tomas Olsson, 46, says. After many years as self-employed, he had taken a job as an employee, a job he enjoyed. But then, by coincidence, he ran into our CEO Mattias Andersson. One thing led to another and Tomas started working with MTEK.
"It was 2018. We were four people at the development then. It was a lot of fun. We were immediately given a lot of personal responsibility".
Despite the fact that it has only been almost four years since then, Tomas is now considered one of the veterans. This is due to all the new employees.
“It's a great group and it's really good that we're growing. In the beginning, we had to do more things in the entire chain. Now that there are more of us, more customers and more projects, we developers can become more specialized and do what we do best. It makes you progress and grow.”
Tomas has a large part in MBrain's growth.
"Certainly, one can easily believe that MBrain is only about efficiency. But there are many integrated parts. It is also about reducing waste and increasing traceability. It's really good stuff! There is also an environmental and recycling aspect to it. That makes the job extra fun".
To the uninitiated, working as a software developer can look quite monotonous. An mass of incomprehensible numbers and letters on several large screens.
“It's about solving problems, that's what makes me tick. You get an assignment or an idea and then you have to solve it for the customer's benefit. Sure, it can be frustrating at times along the way, but when you succeed - then it's worth all of the hard work!".
