Tobias left his company in the Philippines - found new challenges at MTEK: "Incredibly creative"

It was the year of 2000.

"Almost everyone who could spell IT got a job," Tobias Grossman, 45, says and laughs.

He himself took a six-month course. Then he got a job. One thing Tobias did was being involved in building up the site bytbil.com (which is now owned by blocket.se). He also ran his own company for a few years.

When love brought him to the Philippines, he started a slightly larger company.

"We made apps and developed systems for Swedish customers. I had around 50 employees at the most and it was going well," Tobias says.

But children grow up. Life changes and the family needed to make a decision about where to live: The Philippines or Sweden?

In the end, the decision to move back home to Hälsingland was quite easy.

"I had done some work for Mattias (Andersson, CEO here at MTEK) before and I knew he was doing something exciting".

Tobias got a job right away. It was in 2019. MBrain was being developed and MTEK was starting to grow.

“It was a new challenge, and it keeps growing all the time. The order was: `Do exactly what you want as long as you make MBrain better! `I joined an incredibly creative and inspiring group.”

Working with MBrain is a privilege, Tobias says.

"You notice that some factories are almost like dinosaurs when it comes to IT. With MBrain, we bring them to the present in just a few weeks. They get more control over their production. They get all the information gathered in one place - and become many times more efficient.”

Leaving the Philippines and a life as self-employed to work for someone else at MTEK is not something Tobias regrets. Here he has been given a tailor-made role.

“I´m part ot the test team, but I am a developer. This means that I develop the tools we use to test MBrain, to make sure that it has the quality the customers require."
