Sara Rylander, 40, is not afraid of challenges or quick changes.

While studying humanities, she worked her way up to Purchasing manager at her side job in trade.

With two children - one newborn - she and her husband decided to hastily sell their three-room apartment in Täby for a 200 square meter Hälsingegård outside Edsbyn, just because "it was so nice there".

As a humanist with a secure job at the university, she instead took a job as an administrator for the school bus and transport service "just to gain a foothold".

And when she first heard about MTEK, she frowned because "it's absolutely not in my line of work".

Nevertheless, today she has a key role with us.

"I read an article about MTEK and Mattias (Andersson, CEO) in the business newspaper Dagens Industri. He has succeeded in creating a world leading high-tech company here in little Alfta. It was so fascinating that someone could resist the Stockholm concentration. I was so impressed that I wrote to him on Linkedin," Sara says.

Four months later, she left her top job as Municipal secretary at Ovanåker municipality and was employed by MTEK.

"It´s a strength that I am a humanist and not an engineer. I see the big picture in a different manner".

Sara's title is Chief Operating Officer (COO).

She describes it as a spider in a web. Her role is to supervise administrative and operational daily functions.

She doesn't miss her old jobs or the apartment in Täby.

"Here I have a super exciting job in a global environment, while at the same time I have ski tracks, ski slope, stables, soccer and the forest within just five minutes. It's a perfect balance between work and life quality," Sara says and continues:

"The job is so incredibly creative and at the same time the atmosphere is nice. You can't really put your finger on it, but there is a desire in the air to perform, that we should succeed in what we are doing."
